In continuation of a previous post on this blog (“The Choice,”) about sexist TV shows, I just read an article about a show called “The Bachelor” (and, additionally, “The Bachelorette”) and how this show was sued for discrimination on the basis of race. While this does not directly relate to sexism, I felt it reinforced my critique of sexist television shows by providing yet another example of how these shows are inherently flawed and offensive, both by promoting sexist stereotypes and an archaic belief of the superior desirablilty of white men and women.
